PUPPY SCHOOL

What Is Puppy School?

MainPic

Puppy school consists of two classes set up to help socialise your new puppy with other puppies and people. It also provides you with all the information needed for a happy and healthy pup, while getting you started with basic training.

Why Socialise?

MainPic

The major learning or socialising period of a puppy is between 6 and 18 weeks of age, making this the best time to get your pup used to being around other dogs.

This is when positive reinforcement is important to developing a happy good-mannered dog.

What Do I Bring?

MainPic

When bringing your puppy to class, a collar and lead is needed. We encourage all members of the family (especially children) to attend, as everyone needs to be involved in the upbringing of the puppy.

It is also recommended that puppies not be fed too much beforehand, because we use treat rewards to encourage training.

What Does It Cost?

MainPic

For the two classes (one week apart) the cost is only $25.00.

This will be paid to the Vet Nurse on duty at the end of class.

Who Teaches Puppy School?

MainPic

Julieann Amess, who has been leading puppy classes locally for 10 years, teaches puppy school. Julieann has attended training seminars relevant to puppy training and development.

She has been involved at most of the regional clubs, training her own dogs for 20 years and competing statewide at open level.
